Getting married in Gibraltar

Gibraltar has been a wedding destination for decades, and the paperwork is refreshingly simple. It does require one thing from wherever you’re staying, and we handle that part.

Your confirmation of stay letter

The registry needs written confirmation of where you're staying, covering the night of your ceremony or the night before. You'll need it at your paperwork appointment, which takes place at the registry office before your wedding day, not on the day itself.

We prepare that letter for every couple staying with us for a wedding, and send it ahead of your appointment rather than waiting to be asked. It confirms your name, the property, and the exact dates of your stay.

If the registry asks for anything in a particular format, tell us and we'll match it.

Properties for a wedding stay

The registry office holds up to 20 people, so Gibraltar weddings tend to be small. Our properties suit that: a couple on their own, or a few of them for family and friends who've travelled over.

Most have a pool and are within walking distance of the registry office, the marinas and restaurants. Self check-in means arriving late the night before is no problem.

Staying on

Plenty of couples make a week of it. We offer reduced weekly and monthly rates, so extending beyond the ceremony costs less per night than a short stay.

Before you book

Requirements change, so check the current guidance from the Registry of Marriages & Civil Partnerships at gibraltar.gov.gi before making arrangements. If you're unsure whether our letter will cover what you need, message us first. We'd rather check than have you find out at the registry office.
